A Celtic Traveler Bagpipes - Ian Whitelaw (header)

Music can bring comfort and peace
"One of the occasions that I am most fulfilled playing my bagpipe music is at funeral ceremonies. Music is the universal communicator and it allows for a sense of closure. Many family members and friends of those that have passed have shared with me that the moment the music began their deepest emotions and precious memories could be touched and released."Ian

Ian is available for gravesite, church, home or any other locations for services. He also plays at wakes, living wakes, and services of all religious and spiritual practices.

One of the most requested and meaningful tunes performed by Ian is Amazing Grace. Ian not only plays a breathtaking rendition of this tune but also has a great variety of other musical pieces available to suit each unique memorial service.

Ian understands the nature of the timing and what is needed for this type of service and can be available at short notice to be sensitive to this. Ian has played at funerals throughout the West Coast.

"I was in such a traumatized state and really needed everything to work easily with no problems. Ian was incredibly professional right from the start. He had an intuitive sense about what to do which really helped me through."
Patricia Sanderson

"It was so hard to really let myself go and feel my emotions about the death of my father. The moment Ian played Amazing Grace my heart just melted and I felt a rush of closeness, warmth and so many of the emotions that were difficult to experience before then. I will always be grateful to him for that."
Lori Goldman

"When Ian played his bagpipes at my husband's funeral it was as though the angels themselves played the notes in his honor. Truly heartfelt."

"I always thought bagpipes were supposed to be played outside and that they would be too loud for my mother's service. Ian is such an expert at playing pipes that the music was very melodic and soothing and couldn't have sounded more beautiful inside the church."
